Bruce
Lee once said, “There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must
not stay there — you must go beyond them.” Many great philosophers, social
scientists and scholarly minds have strived to define success in its most
veracious form, but it seems that even though they have been able to achieve
success, defining it has evidently not been an easy task. The question that
arises is then what truly does success mean? Does it have the same meaning for
everyone or is it different for individuals?
Delving
deeper into these questions, it is imperative to understand and believe that
the meaning of success varies from person to person. Not only that, success is
evidently a subjective phenomenon that differs for each distinct individual.
Irrespective
of that, the modern day world has compelled the global society in such an
outrageous manner that attaining one’s highest objectives is now imperatively
understood as a practical reality. Consequently, this has ensued in a rapidly
proliferating importance of attaining a desired aim.
Every
single human being, from times immemorial, has been vehemently putting in
strenuous efforts in order to be on the up and up. As a result, society fails
to acknowledge the fact that accomplishing excellence is not about reaching a
certain fixed destination, rather it is an out and out enthralling journey.
Apart from that, individuals tend to get so engaged in the hustle and bustle of
their daily lives that it becomes practically impossible for them to be able to
self-reflect and ponder upon what they have succeeded in already.
As
rightly said by the famous American author, Helen Keller, “Optimism is the
faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and
confidence”, the two most crucial elements necessary for attaining success
are optimism and confidence. Accordingly, being pessimistic with a tangling
belief in oneself could lead to a road other than what mankind truly desires
for their own selves.
In
addition to that, there is a very minute difference between being ordinary or
being extraordinary. It is entirely on the set of individuals that whether they
wish to stand out in the society or they want to be a rat in the maze, being
trapped in an impossible dilemma with numerous twists and turns. This choice is
what sets apart the one percent that are often referred to; they refuse to be
manipulated at the hands of an unknown and unseen meddler.
Besides,
one thing that most of us usually tend to forget is that every champion has
always been faced with some sort of a failure in their respective journeys.
Putting in all the hard work sometimes may not be able to make one understand
and more importantly make him learn as much as dealing with obstacles does.
Falling through offers a chance to look back and self-analyze what went wrong
and how that could be thoroughly improved.
Viewing
failures as the end of the road will never be able to serve a person right, but
perceiving and interpreting them as hurdles as a part of the journey to
success, and taking insights from them is undeniably the most pivotal aspect of
procuring a favorable outcome.
Furthermore, success is
not how much effort one puts in, but how much is that one person willing to
digest and absorb through all the barriers which are faced upon in this cruise.
Only the ones who are willing to take this extra mile can persistently step
closer and closer towards achieving their goals and aspirations, and hence, can
jump onto being successful.
